About Ann Blair

  • Ann Blair started performing at the age of 8 and wrote her first song at the age of 15.
  • In 1991, competed among a field of 5,000 entrants in the WMZQ Radio’s “Country Star on the Horizon” contest held in Washington, D.C. She earned a nomination as one of 36 finalists and was recognized as one of 6 selected female solo competitors.
  • Writing ability as well as vocalizing earned Ann an invitation to perform at the “Trowbridge Symposium” in Nashville, Tennessee in August of 2003. Showcasing in two separate categories, one for her original material and another for her ability to cover other material. Jason Blume, whom is accredited as a number one songwriter, with number one hits for the Backstreet Boys, Brittney Spears and the Oakridge Boys to mention a few, critiqued Ann’s writing and performance.   • Awarded a spot in the USA (Unsigned Artist) talent search in Las Vegas, NV as a soloist in 2003.
  • From 1992 to 2000 performed at various clubs and hot spots in Northern Virginia. Performing with “Tangent” at “Black Orchard Restaurant”, and forming an acoustic group “Purely Experimental” and could be seen performing at “Mark’s Pub” in Falls Church, VA. Ann decided that she was ready to record her original material, and when a private investor offered her the opportunity she gratefully accepted and began working on her original full-length album.
  • Ann’s music can be heard airing on Whole Wheat Radio, LexRock, WSVN Radio, Rockabilly Radio, EORadio, Clear Channel .com, Country Girls Only, Radio Wayne, Florida’s Big Wheel, to name a few. Bottles –n- Bruises, was released on a WSVN compilation CD, March 2005 and was distributed to over 1,000,000.00 people national and internationally. “Time to Go” was featured on a Clear Channel CD; all proceeds were donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
  • Released a 3 song preview of “No Regrets” on June 19, 2004 and sold more than 500 CD’s from that date through September, 2004.
  • A member of the Songwriter’s Association and the Washington Area Music Association. An ASCAP member with membership as a writer as well as a publisher.
  • Earned a 2004 WAMMIE nominee for her 3 song preview CD “No Regrets”.
  • Performances on the Mamapalooza 2005 Tour, Viva Vienna, 2005. Performed the National Anthem at RFK stadium on July 19th, 2005. Ann has lent her speaking voice to the commercial radio world, and can be heard on several spa and salon commercials, these have aired in Iowa, Kentucky and Pennsylvania.
  • Ann supports a Domestic abuse organization portions of proceeds from her CD will be contributed to this organization.
  • Ann has been contacted by an artist/promoter in Germany, with prospect for her to gig in Germany, as well her songs from the 3 song CD, are due to be aired around Germany.

Ann’s goal is to build her career to a level that will enable her to help empower others in their lives. She believes in her songs and the messages that they hold. Her desire is to help make a difference in the areas of Domestic Abuse along with support to American Diabetes, and the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
